The Capricorn Coast offers a haven for golden beaches, pristine waters, tranquil
rainforests and dramatic sunsets. Yeppoon is situated 38km north east of
Rockhampton and is the largest town in the Capricorn Coast region. There
is plenty to see and do in Yeppoon such as enjoying a coffee in town at one
of the numerous cafes and restaurants, taking a stroll along the beach or you
can venture out on a short drive to the beautiful Byfield National Park for a

Off the coast of Yeppoon, lies the infamous Keppel Islands. Great Keppel Island

Great Keppel Island it is only a 20 minute boat trip from the Yeppoon harbour,
which is the largest harbour north of Brisbane and a sort after stop-off point
for keen sailors and fisherman.
Yeppoon was once a sleepy little village but now is boasting with life as an
area of choice for many Australians. Numerous developers have discovered this
unparallelled town and are providing more infrastructure and housing to take
advantage of the spectacular views and idyllic seaside lifestyle. As of 2006,
the Livingstone Shire which covers Yeppoon, Emu Park and other small
neighbouring towns had a population of 30,637 permanent residents.

and Planning expect that by 2011, the population of the Livingstone Shire
will be between 32,000 and 34,000 people and by 2026, to between 41,000 and
54,000.
